2020
As the shutdowns of 2020 happened, our country shut down and no one seemed to have any idea what to do. For most people who were sent home to work or were laid off from their jobs, 2020 was a year of mystery, stress, anxiety, and fear. Most of all, it was a year when most people were waiting… Waiting as they watched the other events of 2020 unfold.
While others were waiting, we were building…
Instead of choosing to just wait things out, we at Tall Oaks chose to take a deeper look at the educational landscape. During that time we made a small handful of important discoveries.
Two-Thirds of children growing up in the Church fall away from faith when they go to college. A large percentage of them never return to faith.
Modern education curriculums are not turning out graduates that have a biblical worldview, even from many “Christian” curriculums.
We are a largely illiterate population. More than half of our population cannot read past a 6th grade level.
Our education world rankings in America continue to drop and move in the wrong direction.
The classical Christian education movement…
Maybe you have known some of these statistics. In fact, we believe these are facts that have been pretty well known amongst Christians for a while, but it easy to walk away and not know what to do about it. What is the answer?
Thankfully, soon after discovering these alarming facts, we discovered the classical Christian education movement. As we studied what this educational model does, we were thrilled to find that it answers all of the problems we saw in our education system. Standing firm in their faith after leaving the home

When we saw these great results, we couldn’t help but earnestly desire this education for our own children. We knew that we could homeschool, but we had our reasons to avoid homeschooling (a topic for somewhere else). We found that there were no ACCS schools around us and so we began the process of sharing the classical vision with parents, leaders, and educators from a variety of local congregations. As we did so, we found God opening doors, and stirring a desire for this kind of education to be offered in the city of Kenosha.
The formation of the Tall Oaks Academy school board…
Because of the interest, we began the process of finding the right people to serve on our founding school board. The school board officially formed in August of 2021, and Tall Oaks Academy was officially incorporated in September of 2021. Tall Oaks Academy will officially open their doors in September of 2022!
