Classical Preschool

Developing Habits of Success

Preschool at Tall Oaks is all about preparation. Planting the seeds for success down the road is our main focus at this age, and a huge part of that is helping students fall in love with learning. We want students to delight in the pleasures of this stage of life - to capitalize on the curiosity and enthusiasm of their youth and to enjoy the songs, stories, games, rhymes, and prayers enjoyed by pre-school aged children for generations.

The curriculum we use at this age focuses on:

  • age-appropriate, quality content

  • real books — classics that are beautiful and rich

  • well prioritized objectives

  • recitation

  • repetition

  • Habit Development - life habits and life skills

At this age, we also know the importance of imitation through many years of psychological research. Kids are sponges and want to imitate what adults do. Imitation is a key aspect of grammar, and we will devote much time to acting, play, games, exploration, and social interactions that train them in civil mannerisms.
